Adam Burton is a leading landscape photographer in the UK, he is also the author of 5 books. He won the wanderlust landscape photographer of the year in 2006, and has been working full time as a professional landscape photographer since 2008. His images have been published in national newspapers and magazines. He started teaching himself photography in 2001 he did this by reading magazines then going onto location and testing these techniques which he has learnt out. All of his photographic skills have been self taught he has not had any photographic training.
Objectively in this image he has got trees on either side of the river framing the river as if they are covering it. Whilst the leading lines of the river take your eyes through the path making the impression that it is never ending. The main focus of the image is in the middle and you can see the slight amount of symmetry in the image. When I do my next photo shoot I will be keeping this in mind and will try and get a bit of symmetry in my own images also. The main colours in this image are autumnal so I will also incorporate this in my images. You can see that the image is bright even though it is quite enclosed by the tree's, so the photographer has had to think about lighting and what kind of day he would go and take the photographs and what shutter speed he would use.
In my opinion the image's vibrance makes the image appears to be almost and alive, as if it is from a scene from a fairy tale. The water is very calming, still and tranquil. The halo in the water has been created using a slow shutter speed with a tripod making sure the camera is extremely still, which is what gives it an ethereal feel.
The yellow on the trees stands out a lot against the green it pops out and stands out from the other colours which brings in happiness and contentment. The autumnal colours burst in through the image, adding a warm and jubilant atmosphere.
Here are the images which I have done as you can see I went out onto Wollaton park and took these images, I have done the first 4 as panoramas and in the 4th and 5th I have cropped out deer from other pictures which I have taken and placed them in them images. By doing this it has made my images different to anyone else's, which also goes with the weird and wonderful theme. In the first two images I have tried getting a bit of symmetry within the images, which I took from the image I analysed above, more so the second than the first. Then with the last two I have used the same 2 images but what I have done is photoshopped the images to make them stand out more :
In these two images above the greenery really stands out to the eye, also the symmetry in the images is one of the first features in the image you see. The orange on the trees gives off warmth and happiness and brightens the picture up a little. To improve this image the sky could be more blue rather than all frosty to give more colour to the image and brighten it up a bit.
In these two images above I took the first two panoramas which I put together and decided to crop some of the deer which I took and place them in this image, I did this because I think it gives you more to look at in the image. Also giving it more of a weird and wonderful feeling. I did this in photoshop by carefully selecting round the deer and then dragging them into the panoramic image and setting them out how I wanted them.
These 2 images above are some of the original images I took which haven't been edited, in the top one the deer is looking straight into the camera whilst in the second it is looking away as if it is striking a pose. the orange on the leaves on the ground and on the trees brightens up the image and gives it a sense of life and happiness. In the bottom image the deer looks as if he is very calm and peaceful whilst in the top looks very stern and serious. The trees in the background are also very effective the way they are all going into different directions and are all different colours making the image brighter and eye-catching.
In these 2 images above I have edited the images with the fake HDR effect, I did this to make the images stand out more and it outlines the features in the images. By doing this the castle stands out more especially in the first image making the little features such as the castle windows more effective and eye catching. You can even see the trail on the grass leading up to the castle which adds more to the image and makes it more striking.
