In The Woods
I selected this image because I thought it stood out the most from the images in which I took in this shoot. The fairy tale which this relates to is red riding hood. The image shows red riding hood on her way through the forest to her grandmothers house, you can see the light shining on her in this image and the arch which she is stood next to really brings the image together. It draws you into the image and the path going down towards the arch shows the path which she is travelling along. Whilst the trees either side shows the woods and the topic of my theme.
This image is of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears having a pick-nick with the woods surrounding them, the main feature in the image which draws me in the most is the lighting in the image. The lighting seeps through the trees leaving shadows and gives off a mystical feeling. The place in which I set up the pick-nick is more to the left of the image this is because I placed it under the branches which curve right over so looks like they are under a dome. I picked this image because I felt it was one of the strongest ones which I took, incorporating a lot in with the darkness, lighting, shadows and the set up of the pick-nick.
This image is based on the Witch in Snow White she has been looking in on her and has been sneaking through the woods.
This is my second Red Riding Hood image which captures the scene in which she is running away from the wolf and is going to her grandmas house. You can clearly see in path which she is running on in this image and it is like she is running straight into the woods. You can see all the trees surrounding her all around the trees ahead are getting more closer together and are more compact. The way her dress is blowing in the wind and as she runs gives a more dramatic feel to the image.
This image is based on the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale so I trailed the bread through the path in the woods, you can see the tree on the right bends slightly which makes the trail of bread stand out even more because it is highlighting the path. By the path bending left it makes you think what it could lead to and where it ends, it makes you think more about the image which is why I picked this spot to place my trail. I also made sure that the image I chose for my final piece had the tree bending over because in my opinion this is what emphasizes the image as a whole and draws your attention to the path.
Here is my third Red Riding Hood image I picked this image for my final piece because it is like the scene where she is hiding from the wolf. She is right in the middle of the woods and you can just see by her body actions she is trying not to be caught. Just by looking at her she is bending down looking through the trees trying to find what she is looking for. Her hand is slowing clenching on her dress showing how fearful and scared she is. If you look straight into the image you can see the light peering through a hole in the trees, adding a more intense feeling to the image. The colours in the image add a creepy and mystical feeling then you look at the dress she is wearing and it adds more brightness to the image and gives a sense of happiness.
This image is based on Snow White and the apple which poisoned her, by having the apple in focus and the woods in the background it gives more to the image and makes it look more effective. The bright red of the apple makes it look sweet and as if it was poisoned. The colour pops out in the image and is the first thing which catches the eye when you look at it, the sunset in the background also adds colour to the image you can see the orange and yellow beaming through the trees. Making the image more bright and magical.
I have picked this image because you can clearly see the movement in the image, I wore all black in this image as did the witch in the Snow White fairy tale. You can see the coat blowing with the wind showing an evil and suspicious feeling. By the image being dull and dark it shows the suspension within the image and gives off the gloominess in the image.
This image is based on the fairy tale Goldilocks and the 3 bears I picked this image because of the landscape in the background you can see through the hole to the woods adding more colour to the image and more to look at, which also makes the picture more intriguing. The blur of light in the top left corner also brightens up the image and makes it look more mystical and magical to go with the theme of the fairy tale. The colours from the bears and the pick-nick blanket gives the image a splash of colour and makes the image as a whole more eye-catching.
I have picked this image because when you look at the image you can see what the fairy tale is about which is Snow White. I picked this exact image because you can see it looks like the branches on the trees are pointing at the apple, which makes the apple stand out even more and gives it more recognition. Also the colour from the sunset beaming through the image adds a more mystical feeling to the image and brightens it up. You can see the bite missing from the apple which is the main part in the story then around you can see the apple is bright red.
