In this shoot I based it on snow white I took images of a bitten apple in the woods as in the snow white and the seven dwarfs fairy tale he house is centred in the woods and an old lady knocked on her door and gave her a poisoned apple. She took a bite of the apple and passed out onto the ground. Here are my images for this shoot :
In this image you can tell that the apple has been bitten into which is what I wanted to see in the image, and because of the lighting the apple looks bright red and as if it was a poisoned apple. The branches on the trees are surrounding the apple and it is as if they are pointing at it. By the branches being so messy and all over the place it's as if the trees are alive and moving which gives the image an enchanted feeling.
In these images above you have to look deep into the picture to figure out what the object on the ground is. I moved the position of the apple in the images so the background was different and so more trees were surrounding it. I think it works well with the diary tale snow white as the apple has been bitten so I have done the scene in where she has bitten the apple which the witch gave to her and it is now on the ground because she got poisoned by it.
In this image the apple is in focus with the bite taken out of it whilst the woods in the background are all out of focus. You can vaguely see the sunset trying to peek through the trees adding more colour into the image. The bright redness of the apple draws you straight into the image you can see it is juicy and sweet just like the one in the snow white fairy tale.
In my opinion I think these ones above with the apple more in focus or with the background more in focus are the most effective new this is because you can easily identify what the object is, and I think they go well with my fairy tale theme about snow white. Also by the sunset peering through the trees I think it has given the image more to look at and more of a mystical and creepy affect in some.
Then I decided to enhance the apple in the image by making it all black and white apart from the apple, to see if it makes it stand out in the ones where they are within the image. Here is my attempt at doing this :
The image did do what I wanted it to do by making the apple stand out however in my opinion the image looks better as a whole with the colour in the background as well. Also because the apple is so small there is only a splash of colour in the image so doesn't make it eye-catching enough.
