Documentary Mood Board
Documentary is a picture which shows a story, as you can see in my mood board you can tell by some of their faces that they are unhappy and alone. Just by looking at the pictures I understood what it was bring to show.
Angelo Merendino is known for his documentary photography from when he was taking pictures of his wife struggling through breast cancer.
Objectively in this picture it is so simple but it shows so much emotion and thought. If you didn't know that she was suffering with cancer in this picture you would of just thought it was a normal picture. However because we know that she is suffering from cancer you look at the picture in more detail. No one knows what she is thinking, no one knows how hard she is struggling and non one knows who much pain she is in. You can tell she is in deep thought in this photo and we can only guess what she is thinking. You can see in her emotions that she knows what is coming and by the colour of the picture being black and white it makes you focus on her even more. You can tell she is holding everything in and just wants to sit and think for a minuet. Subjectively, this photo is so powerful just by looking at it and thinking about it, it brings out so many emotions, thoughts and feelings. Making you think about life and appreciating it even more. As you can see through the window there is a woman pushing a pram so you can't even begin to think of how she is feeling watching this, knowing that she wont be able to have kids of her own and knowing that her life will be over soon.
Dorothea Lang was born on 26th May 1895 and died October 11th 1965. She was an American documentary photographer, she is known for her work on depression-era.

Here is some documentary which I have done showing the process of some street wall art. You can see the concentration on their faces when they are using the spray paint trying not to go over lines and making sure that they do their best. You can see on one of the pictures the numbers on the board this was because they all had individual numbers so they got to share the roles out equally, and so they were all able to have a go at doing all the different stages, to be able to create the wall art. Then as you can see at the end they all got to take one home with them.
Here are some of my other documentary which I did on my dad at his work place. It shows his journey to work and what happens there In the fist image he is walking through the door so he has just arrived there. In the second image is his office space and I have highlighted some of the images on his wall.In the third image you have someone cutting the chicken meat so it can be served to customers. Then in the last image it is of the front of the shop showing you what the customers see when they go in. :
