Weird and Wonderful Landscape Mood Board
Tony Howell is a landscape photographer and I will be using his images for inspiration for my Weird and Wonderful pictures. He has done many landscape Panoramic images so I will try and do this myself. He is an English landscape photographer, with over 35 years of experience and has worked for some of the biggest businesses in the world. They have been selling his images and prints online since 1997. He started photography at age 17 when his father brought him a kodak camera, he started off taking images of sunrises and sunsets. Tony Howell was asked what camera he used and here is part of what he said: "I don't think the camera you use is as important as your 'vision' - it's what you see that counts - and plenty of practice" http://www.tonyhowell.co.uk/about.htm
Objectively in this landscape image as you can see there is a lot of greenery from the grass and the trees, the photo is also very bright because of it. You can also see cows in the distance and also hay barrels which would of had to of been there at a certain time for the photographer to of been able to capture these. Showing that the photographer has planned this image and thought about it before he went to capture it. It is weird and wonderful because if you look at the image it isn't just landscape it is a panorama which makes the image more interesting to look at and also fits more into the image.
It is different and unusual because of the the panoramic image this is because it is not something which can be seen with the naked eye, it is an unnatural viewpoint as our human prefrial vision cannot stretch that far.
Subjectively this image is very natural, and also dry, calming and peaceful because of the blue and green used in the image. The cool colours in this image connate peace and tranquillity. The main focus of the image is the hill and all the greenery on it which makes it stand out even more because it's so bright and eye catching. In the image there is a large depth of field you focus on all of the image rather than one part. The image is extremely detailed you can see everything even as to all the different sectors in the fields and all the individual bushes on the hill.
Here are some of my own images in which I have created as panoramas, I took these images at the back of my house as we have a lot of fields and greenery, as I took my images I followed the image along so when I came to making it into a panorama all the images stuck together perfectly.
In the first image I took of the field I have tried to incorporate all the colours and even the sky with the clouds. The second image I did was just of the clouds I thought this was very effective because you can see the colour changing in the sky and you can also see the clouds going from big to small.
In the third image it is of just one section of the fields I have tried to get the 3 sections in so the top is the sky the second section is of the trees then the third is of the actual field. You can also see the birds on the right as they are flying away.
Then my last images are of some horses that I found within the fields the clouds in this image makes the image have something more to it because you can see the sun set is getting ready whilst the grass looks very fresh and the green stands out.:

In these last 2 images I have edited them with the fake HDR effect, which gives the image more definition and outlines the features in the image. In the bottom image by doing the fake HDR effect the clouds stand out the most it has given them more colour and has made each individual one stand out more. In the top one it also made the clouds stand out but mainly the trees because they are in the foreground of the image.
Development
I then created some more panoramas of the fields however this time I decided to change the times when I took them. I did this to see what the images looked like at different times of the day. First I took some early in the morning when the sky wasn't bright however there was a purply colour which came through. Then I took some in the day, when the sun was out a shining the sky was clear blue and the image was so much brighter.
These 2 above are the ones which I took early in the morning they are very dull but I like the way you can kind of see a bit of purple in the sky. Not everything is clear but this adds more to the image, you cant really see the trees and fields in detail you can just see the outline of everything.
Here is the image I took in the day as you can see the sky is bright blue fading from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom, which really makes the image stand out and look extremely clear. You can see the fresh green grass and the trees you can even see the divide in the fields more clear that the other morning images. On the right of the image you can also see a bird flying in the sky adding a bit more to the image.
